Statement of Values
A Note on What I Believe
"The forest is far more than a source of timber. It is our collective medicine cabinet. It is our lungs. It is the regulatory system for our climate and our oceans. It is the mantle of our planet. It is the health and well-being of our children and grandchildren. It is our sacred home. It is our salvation." -Diana Beresford-Kroeger
I believe healing is both personal and political. Working on yourself matters. So does showing up for the world around you. I don't think those are separate practices.
I also believe in pleasure, rest, joy, and the full aliveness of being a body on this earth. Those aren't luxuries or rewards for doing enough shadow work. They're part of what we're fighting for!
At the same time, I won't pretend this space is neutral. I'm a white bodied practitioner actively doing my own healing work, on my lineage, my conditioning, my relationship to the traditions I study and the communities I move through. I hold this space with that awareness.
Healing that only goes inward and never looks outward at what we've collectively inherited isn't the whole picture for me. We are living through active ecocide - the destruction of forests, waterways, and ecosystems that sustain all life. We are living through ongoing genocide, most visibly right now in Gaza, Sudan, and Congo, where entire peoples are being erased while the majority of the world is expected to look away.
We are living with the legacy of colonization in our bodies, our nervous systems, our severed relationships to land and ancestry. And we are living with the particular violence of a digital age that has accelerated extraction, surveillance, and disconnection from the earth and each other at a scale our ancestors couldn't have imagined.
These are not abstract issues. They live in the biofield. They show up in sessions. They are part of what we carry.
All vibrations are welcome here - not just the high ones. Grief, rage, confusion, and the hard stuff are as much a part of this work as peace and clarity. I'm not here to police your process or tell you what your healing should look like.
The earth is alive. So are your ancestors. So are the people currently suffering in ways that are connected to systems all of us live inside. I don't think we can fully heal while pretending otherwise - and I don't think we have to choose between tending to ourselves and tending to our communities and our world.
"We must liberate our spirit for true healing and liberation... we must reconnect to the divine in us and in all beings."- Dra Rosales Meza
